BIO

Sam Abbey is an artist based in NYC with a lifelong passion for storytelling. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in Film/TV, Sam has spent nearly a decade as a storyboard artist, honing his ability to translate narratives into dynamic visuals. As a transmasculine person, he seeks to emphasize inclusivity, and believes representation in media has a profound effect on marginalized communities. Sam’s career in advertising has enabled his illustrations to reach millions through impactful social media campaigns. He storyboarded an Academy Award Nominated short film, Feeling Through. In addition to ads for Verizon, Dunkin,’ and MasterCard, he has lent his skills to major organizations, like Planned Parenthood, Doctors Without Borders, and The United Nations. He is known for being adaptable, collaborative, and versatile.

These days, If he’s not binge-watching Ink Master, you might find him section hiking the Appalachian Trail, fishing the banks, or tattooing his friends. If you don’t find him there, he is probably hyper-fixating on his hobby-du-jour; maybe making a schematic for his future Bus RV, or learning a new marketable skill, like…package design, or something. You will definitely find him hanging out with his cat-daughter, Cousin Stinky June.
