Prior to joining ACM UK, Julie Finidori spent five years travelling the world to attend international book fairs for Editions Albin Michel before founding her literary agency, Julie Finidori Agency. Her goal is to continue doing the work she loves, promoting books and authors she believes in by proposing her services to authors, accompanying them to find the right publisher for their work, and to help promote their books for translations.
An avid reader from a young age, her taste for literature and languages developed during years living abroad in Indonesia, Sweden, and the US as a child and later in Canada and Turkey. Back in France to study social sciences and literature and then attending business school, her interest in different cultures as well as real and fictional travels didn’t diminish. Julie discovered rights sales and acquisitions during various experiences in publishing, cinema and television. Focussed on local or international cultural production as well as the protection of intellectual property, this job had her hooked from the start!
The books Julie strives to represent and present to the world are books infused with values and issues that are important to her and social justice-oriented, such as feminism, antiracism, fatphobia, LGBTphobia, ableism, mental health awareness, and ecology, whether they are fiction, non-fiction, adult or children’s books.
Julie is based in Paris.
