Steve Bjorkman has been drawing since he was a kid, and sometimes got in trouble for it. He clearly recalls his 6th grade teacher confiscating his paper saying, “Quit drawing in class, Stevie. That’ll never get you anywhere.” But after illustrating over a hundred books for kids he loves to encourage kids everywhere to keep drawing and to stay curious. He works in pen and ink and watercolor, loving the earthy spontaneity these provide.A committed sketcher everywhere he goes, Steve loves to capture human emotion from raucous humor to heartfelt drama with warmth and honesty. Steve has illustrated not only dozens of kids books, but ads, magazines, and thousands of greeting cards.
