Mk Smith Despres (they/them) lives in western Massachusetts and attended Hampshire College. Mk has two children and works as an elementary school special education teacher, a role that involves sharing the best of children's literature with young people. Hiking, baking, gardening, and knitting are places where they find inspiration and solace. Mk is the author of five upcoming picture books.
