Andrés López

Andrés López is a Mexican author and illustrator of picture books. Their books have been published in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, France, Spain and South Korea, and have received multiple international awards. Most recently, Andrés received the 2022 International Award for Illustration from the Bologna Children's Book Fair for their picture book Giant by the Shore.

Andrés uses emotions, memories, and metaphors to tell the stories they imagine. They believe that good stories and books are like microscopes that allow people to notice the smallest details hidden in our daily life. They are happy to share their stories and what they have found with others, and to hear about the stories that others imagine, too. Andrés imagines and creates books from their studio in the company of their two dogs.
